 The city of Ploce is located on 43°02' N and 17°26' E in Republic of Croatia in Dubrovnik-Neretva county. Ploce is located on the Adriatic coast just north of the Neretva river delta and is as such the natural seaside endpoint of most north-south routes through the central Dinaric Alps. This makes it the primary seaport used by Bosnia and Herzegovina and the endpoint of the Pan-European corridor 5C (Budapest - Osijek - Sarajevo - Ploce).
Ploce is placed in the middle between regional centers of Split and Dubrovnik, on the Adriatic highway, which connects all cities on Croatian side of Adriatic. By the end of 2008 the higway from Zagreb to Ploce will be constructed and the crossroad with corridor 5C will be in Ploce. |
